Aya is a graduate from the University at Albany, SUNY where she studied Psychology and Biology and she is now a masters candidate in NYU’s Psychology program graduating in May 2023. At the start of her career in psychology she worked in a behavioral neuroscience lab where she studied the changes in the corticotropin-releasing factor receptor type- 1.

She now specializes in disciplines such as developmental and cognitive psychology, linguistics , communication sciences and disorders, specifically studying how parent-child interactions contribute to children both atypical and neurotypical learning language.

Through her research she hopes to become an advocate for those populations who cannot advocate for themselves in the field of mental health. In her free time Aya enjoys spending time with family, trying new restaurants and foods and traveling.
