Owen Muir, MD
Dr. Owen Muir is a dual board-certified MD in Child and Adult Psychiatry, a current faculty at the Baylor College of Medicine, and a repeat Physician-Founder with company exits in care delivery. He is an expert in interventional mental health care and the co-founder of Brooklyn Minds.
He has over 60,000 hours of patient care focusing on treatment-resistant conditions and over 180 academic citations to his credit. He received his BA from Amherst College (Magna Cum Laude), MD from the University of Rochester, completed his general psychiatry residency at The Hofstra-Northwell General Psychiatry Residency Program at the Zucker Hillside Hospital, and his Child and Adolescent Fellowship from the NYU SOM at Bellevue Hospital.
He is the author of Adolescent Suicide And Self-Injury: Mentalizing Theory and Treatment and is a Supervisor in Mentalization Based Treatment through the Anna Freud Centre, as well as having certification as an AMBIT trainer internationally. He serves as an advisor to Brainsway, Janssen, and does additional work in value-based care. He enjoys music and podcasts in his free time.
